An alert reader pointed out to me yesterday that the statistics in the following article are INCORRECT, because they pertain to a mixture of both regular DC public schools AND the charter schools. I am working to fix that, separate out both the public schools and the charter schools, and will report what I find out.
My apologies. GFB.
Anybody who wants to look at the raw data I was using when looking at overall DCPS student achievement as measured by the DC-CAS from 2007 (a few months before Kanzler Rhee was appointed) until this year may look at the large spreadsheet for him/herself. It’s a Google document, and the URL is here: https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AlZJFar_AuNBdDVkaWJTOW9UZC0wbU9KOUN4MkdDREE&authkey=CPCY0akK&hl=en#gid=0
Or else, just click on this.
(Please let me know if you have any problems finding or reading the data.)
All I did was take the normal data supplied by OSSE on its NCLB website, go back through 2007, stack each category’s data by year. A bit of a PITA, but useful if one wants to check out the veracity (or lack thereof) of Kanzler Rhee and her acolytes at the Washington Post, Gates Foundation, Broad Foundation, Walton Foundation, etc etc.
