Excellent Analysis of New Jersey Charter and Public Schools

The writer goes through a LOT of trouble to find out what makes the supposedly “high-flying” New Jersey charter schools tick. What he/she finds is that the ones that do have good scores (and that’s not all of them, not by a long shot) have a very simple formula: weed out poorer kids, kids who need special education and those who are immigrants learning English as a second language. Very impressive work!
